All RPS 205 schools are closed today because of the colder than expected weather. All after-school activities are also cancelled including Y Care. The RPS 205 Admin Bldg, Sterling Holley, & Ops Support Ctr will be open. This day will be made up on March 3 (Casimir Pulaski Day).

Lane Families, We are happy to announce that our attendance percentage has increased 1.8 %, and while we are still striving for our goal of 90 %, we know we can achieve this together! 302 students had perfect attendance during this week and would love to see more students on this list! Thank you to those families who brought their child to school every day, on time and ready to learn. Your dedication makes a significant difference. To reach our attendance goal, we encourage all families to continue prioritizing daily attendance. Lane families, Laney the Elf hijacked our feed, but don't listen to her! School is open tomorrow and we can't wait to welcome our students for the last day before winter break! We have a big surprise planned...don't miss out! Our apologies for any confusion.

We are excited to share that the 2025-2026 school year calendar was approved by the school board on Tuesday night. It includes several important updates that reflect our commitment to aligning with neighboring districts and enhancing the overall learning experience for our students. Key Changes : Earlier Start Date: The school year will begin earlier in August. This adjustment is possible because all RPS 205 schools are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable learning environment during warmer months. Fall Break: We will continue to offer a full week off for Fall Break, giving families and staff time to recharge. First Semester Ends Before Winter Break: High School students will complete their first semester before Winter Break, allowing for a true break without pending exams or projects. School Year Ends Before Memorial Day: The last day of school will occur before Memorial Day, providing families an earlier start to summer vacation. Lane Families, This week, our attendance percentage dropped an additional 0.7%, and while we are still striving for our goal of 93%, we know we can achieve this together! We are pleased to share that 350 students had perfect attendance during this week. Every Monday during the month of December our friends with excellent attendance for the week will be entered in a drawing to win a free happy meal for lunch! Thank you to those families who brought their child to school every day, on time and ready to learn. Your dedication makes a significant difference. To reach our attendance goal, we encourage all families to continue prioritizing daily attendance. Make sure your child is dressed for the weather with a coat, hat, and gloves. We will be outside for recess every day there is no rain or snow falling and the temperature is above a windchill of 10 degrees.
